On March 1st, I started a new journey. It's one I have attempted to go on many times now. A journey to a healthier me. And so far I have failed every time I have ever tried. I have some added motivation this time around.
1. I saw a friend compete on The Biggest Loser this season and seeing her start at a weight higher than my current weight and then watching her lose over 100 pounds and reach a weight even lower than I thought was possible for me. For the first time in my life, I believed I could stop dreaming about being fit & healthy and I could actually BE fit & healthy.
2. In 3 months, I will be seeing friends from high school for the first time in at least 10 years. My old softball and basketball coach is retiring and having a party. And, like anyone who has ever attended a reunion, I want these friends from my youth to see me looking my best.
Since part of my inspiration started with The Biggest Loser, it makes sense that I found my footing with dietary advice from one of the trainers made famous by the show --- Bob Harper. Like me, you may have seen Bob's Skinny Rules floating around your Pinterest feed. I invested in his book Skinny Meals. I have not read Skinny Rules but he revisits the rules at the beginning of this book and then provides 100 recipes that adhere to his plan.
So I'm off to embark on a new journey. And I'll share my success and my failures on this journey. Tips that work for me. As well as my progress.
Talk to you guys soon.
